TDI & TDI Duo Overview

  • Phantom-powered Stereo DI box with active circuitry
  • Ultra-low-noise JFET buffer drives exceptionally clean Lehle step-down transformer
  • High-fidelity sound quality with mitigation of distortion and noise interference
  • Enhances signal for long cable runs protecting against degradation
  • Compact, road-ready design with rugged durability
  • -20 dB pad for speaker-level signals and active instruments
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Simple, straightforward design

Inspired by our straightforward design philosophy and our desire to offer outboard DI alternatives, we created the AEA TDI and TDI Duo.

The TDI and TDI Duo’s active circuitry delivers top-grade sound quality while minimizing distortion and noise interference and maximizing your signal over long cable runs. A ground-lift switch eliminates any remaining hum or noise that can arise from grounding loops.

Though designed for instrument-level signals generated by passive pickups, the TDI and TDI Duo are perfect for line-level signals from drum machines, samplers, and synths.

The TDI and TDI Duo are built to last with a rugged steel chassis, ideal for tours, stage backlines, and years of rigorous studio use.

You can also mount three TDI Duos onto a standard 19” universal rack tray to create a six-channel 1U DI station.

My new favorite DI! Sounds and looks wonderful. Super clean!

Matt McJunkins, Musician/Songwriter/Producer/Engineer

“This new direct box designed by Fred Forssell is a thing of elegance in design and sonic beauty. With a ten megohm input impedance this circuit has gobbs of headroom.”

“It’s easy to do great work when you have great tools. The AEA TDI sounds incredible. It’s built like a tank, and it easily put my other DI’s in the bottom drawer.”

“This new active DI from AEA captures direct signals with great clarity and a full frequency response, without any harshness. Whether I’m capturing a return from a tape echo or spring reverb, or a guitar, bass or keys DI to re-amp later, this is my go-to DI box.”
