The NUVO N28 is a compact, active stereo ribbon microphone featuring two precisely matched figure-8 ribbon transducers in a fixed Blumlein X/Y configuration (90°). Designed for effortless stereo capture, the N28 delivers an authentic representation of a performance with a natural stereo image—all from a single microphone. Its compact, maneuverable, and easy-to-use design makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of recording applications without the complexity of a multi-mic setup. the N28 is visually unobtrusive, great for live environments and video shoots. Ideal for drum overheads, room ambiance, and close-miked string instruments, the N28 offers a phase-coherent, accurate transient response. Optimized for medium-distance recording (8″ to 3′), it features a mid-forward frequency response, mid-field low-end response tuning, and a tamed proximity effect, ensuring depth and detail on darker instruments and clarity and balance across various sources.
